The Permanent Representation of Italy to the International Organizations in Paris hosted a cultural event on April 9 at the Hôtel de Galliffet, part of the Italissimo festival. The event was open to the Parisian public, who were able to discover one of the historic buildings of Italian diplomacy in France. Italissimo is one of the main initiatives dedicated to Italian literature and culture in France, held annually in Paris, bringing together authors, scholars, and the international public. The festival, also supported by Italian institutions, promotes cultural dialogue between Italy and France through meetings, debates, and presentations. With a broad and diverse program, Italissimo highlights contemporary literary production and the great Italian classics. The festival represents a benchmark for the dissemination of Italian culture throughout Europe. The event, organized by the Permanent Representation and dedicated to Roberto Carnero’s book on Pier Paolo Pasolini, featured the author, who offered a comprehensive perspective on Pasolini, portraying his complexity as a man, artist, and intellectual. The debate highlighted the unconventional nature of his thought, capable of critically questioning the society of his time and offering interpretations that remain relevant in the contemporary context. Today, Roberto Carnero met with French high school students studying Italian, hosted by the Consulate General of Italy in Paris. In his closing remarks, Ambassador Luca Sabbatucci, marking the first time the Italian delegation has participated in the festival, emphasized the importance of Italissimo for the comprehensive promotion of Italian culture, including its multilateral dimension.
