The Permanent Mission of Italy to the International Organizations in Paris organized a concert, titled “Dolcissimo sospiro,” at the OECD headquarters.

The initiative was part of the celebrations for the 2,500th anniversary of the founding of Naples, promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which established a Committee for the celebrations, whose first meeting was chaired by Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani.

For this anniversary, the Ensemble Orfeo Futuro was chosen, offering a program dedicated to Neapolitan Baroque music. Founded in 2010, Orfeo Futuro is a variable-geometry ensemble that brings together musicians specialized in performance practices on historical instruments. Over the years, it has performed hundreds of concerts and made numerous recordings, collaborating with prestigious artists and ensembles and distinguishing itself with innovative projects, often intertwining ancient repertoire and contemporary music.

Ambassador Luca Sabbatucci, Permanent Representative of Italy to Paris, emphasized how culture is a strategic element in the development of cities and communities. “Culture and creativity are not merely historical or aesthetic heritage,” he emphasized, “but true drivers of economic growth, social cohesion, and urban innovation. Thanks to OECD tools and analyses, local authorities can measure and enhance the impact of culture. A city that knows how to leverage its history and creativity,” the Ambassador concluded, “provides residents and visitors with a unique and lasting experience.”
