Conference organized by the Permanent Delegation of Italy to International Organizations in Paris and to UNESCO on the occasion of the Day of Italian Research in the World.

The National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), within “Next Generation EU”, has allocated new funds for Italian research, establishing five new National Research Centers for a total of €1.6 billion for the three-year period 2023-2026 and involving 144 universities, research institutions and companies throughout Italy. These Centers are dedicated to five areas identified as strategic for the country’s development: High Performance Data Analysis and Quantum Computation; Sustainable Agriculture; Gene Therapy Development and RNA Technology; Sustainable Mobility; Biodiversity. The leaders from the five National Centers will present their planned activities, challenges and opportunities in their research fields, discussing with OECD and UNESCO representatives ways and means to strengthen international partnerships and exchange of best practices in the areas of science and emerging technologies.
