The OECD hosted the first edition of the Italian Business Integrity Day (IBID), which was promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in conjunction with Transparency International – Italy, and some of the major Italian companies joining to the Business Integrity Forum, an initiative developed by Transparency International. In the context of the International anti-corruption day (9 December) and the 20th anniversary of the signature of the OECD Convention on Combating Bribery of Foreign Public Officials in International Business Transactions, the IBID was organized by the Permanent Delegation of Italy to the International Organizations in cooperation with the Italian enterprises Acciai Speciali Terni, Luxottica Group and TIM, which adhere to the Business Integrity Forum. The event featured a roundtable introduced and moderated by Ambassador Alessandro Busacca, the Permanent Representative of Italy. The Italian companies participating in the event, as well as the French anti-corruption Agency (AFA) and the French Group Thales, presented their own strategies to prevent and combat corruption and other illegal behaviours, as a tangible commitment in favour of integrity and transparency. Mr. Michelangelo Anderlini, the Vice President of Transparency International – Italy, intervened with a presentation of, inter alia, the Business Integrity Forum and its anti-corruption toolkit, which supports SMEs in developing integrity practices.
