Global Forum on Responsible Business Conduct

29-30 June 2017. The Global Forum on Responsible Business Conduct was launched by the OECD in 2013 and It reached its 5th edition this year. It aims at strenghtening international dialogue on Responsible Business Conduct (RBC) and fostering corporate responsibility instruments such as the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises.

The Italian Representation at the OECD played a key role in supporting and promoting abroad the best practices developed by an Italian multinational firm, Snam, in the field of due diligence and corporate responsibility. Thanks to the “economic diplomacy” of the Representation, Snam was invited by the OECD to participate to the Global forum as panellist.

Snam implemented measures aimed at preventing bribery and corruption practices within the company as well as on the side of its suppliers, by pretending the signature of “Ethical Pacts” from the suppliers (more than 1.000 suppliers worldwide). By participating at the Forum, Snam had a chance to explain these best practices, raising the awareness of the stakeholders (Governments, trade unions, corporations) on issues such as due diligence and corporate responsibility.
