The new Director of the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Bari will be selected in the coming months. The Director will have the task of leading the Institute, under the supervision of the Secretary General of the International Center for Advanced Agronomic Studies for the Mediterranean (CIHEAM), who is based in Paris.
The Director will be appointed by the CIHEAM Board of Directors, upon proposal of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Citizens of the 13 CIHEAM member countries (Albania, Algeria, Egypt, France, Greece, Italy, Lebanon, Malta, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, Tunisia and Turkey) who satisfy the requirements indicated in the notice can apply.
A specifically established Commission will evaluate the applications and draw up a shortlist of at least three suitable names, to be presented to the Minister. CIHEAM is an International Organization, based in Paris, which can count on an operational network of research institutes in Italy (Bari), Spain (Zaragoza), France (Montpellier) and Greece (Chania). Founded in 1962, the Institute of Bari is a center for postgraduate training, applied research and planning and execution of cooperation interventions, specialized in the sector of sustainable agricultural development and food security in the Mediterranean and Africa.
CIHEAM Bari facilities include an International Campus located in Valenzano (Bari, Italy) and an office in Tricase (Lecce, Italy), where ongoing capacity building initiatives are conducted using both on-site and distance learning methods.
