The Permanent Delegation of Italy to the OECD has organized the screening of the documentary film “KORDON”, by the Italian Director Alice Tomassini, on March 2, at the OECD Amphitheater, to commemorate the tragic anniversary of the Russian aggression against Ukraine.
In the presence of the OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann and of Ambassador Luca Sabbatucci, the event will gather OECD Ambassadors, diplomats, and OECD staff to pay tribute to the courage of the Ukrainian people, in a joint expression of solidarity and support, recognizing at the same time the key role that OECD has played and will continue to play, in collaboration with the Ukrainian Government, to put in place the foundations for a democratic, sovereign, prosperous and peaceful future.

The docufilm Kordon tells the story of five Ukrainian volunteers whose paths intertwine in a suburban station on the border between Ukraine and Hungary, where they find themselves shuttling between the two countries to try to help and restore hope to their people under attack. Their stories are mirrored in those of the more than seven million women and children who, fleeing war, found themselves having to escape their country in the past year, leaving everything behind. The feature film highlights the importance of women’s role as peacemakers in the face of a world in conflict, telling a moving portrait of resilience, courage and solidarity.

Alice Tomassini is an independent documentary film director, mainly focused on social impact documentaries. She has recently joined the Forbes 30under30 European Media list for her work on social storytelling.
