{"id":2695,"date":"2024-10-03T14:58:49","date_gmt":"2024-10-03T12:58:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/italiarapparigi.esteri.it\/?p=2695"},"modified":"2024-10-03T14:59:37","modified_gmt":"2024-10-03T12:59:37","slug":"the-permanent-representation-of-italy-to-the-oecd-organizes-a-high-level-event-on-marine-plastics-pollution","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/italiarapparigi.esteri.it\/en\/news\/dalla_rappresentanza\/2024\/10\/the-permanent-representation-of-italy-to-the-oecd-organizes-a-high-level-event-on-marine-plastics-pollution\/","title":{"rendered":"THE PERMANENT REPRESENTATION OF ITALY TO THE OECD ORGANIZES A HIGH-LEVEL EVENT ON MARINE PLASTICS POLLUTION"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">\u201cEven though more can and must be done, Italy is today a world leader in recycling materials, as well as in the production and use of compostable plastics.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">We are proud to have been able to showcase these records to an international audience, also thanks to the expertise in monitoring and protecting the marine and coastal environment of the &#8220;Istituto Superiore per la Protezione e la Ricerca Ambientale\u201d declared Ambassador Luca Sabbatucci, Permanent Representative of Italy to the International Organizations in Paris, on the sidelines of a high-level event on marine plastic pollution and the blue economy organized by the Representation.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The meeting, which took place at the OECD headquarters, was also attended by the Deputy Secretary General of the Parisian Organization, the Italian Fabrizia Lapecorella.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Held in conjunction with the publication of the OECD\u2019s \u2018Global Plastics Outlook\u2019, the event highlighted Italy\u2019s expertise, priorities and interests, including economic and industrial, in the sector.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Italian and international experts demonstrated the damage of plastics on the marine ecosystem and discussed the concept of Blue Economy, a sustainable model for a rational use of ocean resources, maintaining the health of ecosystems and promoting long-term economic growth.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The role of bioplastics was also examined, with a focus on compostable plastic.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"\u201cEven though more can and must be done, Italy is today a world leader in recycling materials, as well as in the production and use of compostable plastics.
