SIGNOFF OF THE MOU WITH WHICH ITALY FINANCES A BLUE ECONOMY PROJECT FOR INDONESIA."},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The Minister for National Development Planning of Indonesia, Suharso Monoarfa, and the Permanent Representative of Italy to the OECD, Ambassador Luca Sabbatucci, have made public the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Italy and the\u00a0<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Parisian Organization.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The agreement provides for Italian funding for the OECD regional program for South East Asia to assist Indonesia in a project within the Blue Economy, i.e. the set of policies aimed at promoting economic growth based on the conservation of marine ecosystems and<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">on environmental sustainability.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Italy will allocate a contribution of two hundred thousand euros to carry out a project aimed at the development and management of Indonesia&#8217;s maritime resources in a sustainable manner.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The objective is to increase Indonesian maritime potential, to the benefit of national economic development.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">This will happen thanks to a global analysis and intervention by the OECD, which will touch on various strategic sectors linked to the marine environment, such as financing mechanisms, tourism and the management of waste and plastic in the sea.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The project also includes a multilateral component, aimed at developing the ASEAN reference framework for the Blue Economy.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Thanks to this agreement, Italy aims to reaffirm its closeness to the ASEAN partners, of which Indonesia will be the rotating President in 2023. Furthermore, the MoU constitutes a further, important step in Jakarta&#8217;s accession path to the<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">OECD, strongly supported by Italy in the Organization&#8217;s broader global outreach framework.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">\u201cThis is an important commitment on the part of Italy towards Indonesia, which is expressed in sectors of essential interest for our country and for the OECD, such as sustainability, economic development and conservation of the marine environment\u201d<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">commented Ambassador Sabbatucci during the ceremony.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">\u201cThe value of this Memorandum, however, has a much broader scope, which concerns the future of the OECD and Jakarta as Italy&#8217;s strategic partner\u201d.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Minister for National Development Planning of Indonesia, Suharso Monoarfa, and the Permanent Representative of Italy to the OECD, Ambassador Luca Sabbatucci, have made public the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Italy and the\u00a0 Parisian Organization.
