The annual Ministerial meeting of the OECD Council (MCM), which is entitled \u201cMaking Globalization Work: Better Lives for All<\/strong>\u201d, will take place on June 7 and 8. Danemark will chair the meeting, with the UK and Australia as co-chairs.<\/p>\n

Benefits and downsides of globalization and trade will be discussed, as well as national policies to be adopted on a national and international level in order to better share the advantages of global economic integration.<\/p>\n

The meeting will be preceded by the OECD meeting “Bridging divides<\/strong>” (6-7 June), where the topics of the Ministerial will be open for discussion to representatives of academia, media, politicians, entrepreneurship and civil society. The Italian Under-Secretary to the Presidency of the Council, Sandro Gozi, and Extraordinary Commissary for Digital, Diego Piacentini<\/strong> will attend the meeting. On June 7, after the opening remarks by the Prime Minister of Denmark, Lars Lokke, OECD Secretary General Angel Gurria<\/strong> and Chief Economist Catherine Mann will present the Economic Outlook<\/strong>. The presentation will be followed by the High-Level meeting with the Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anders Samuelson<\/strong>, on “Stocktaking on globalization: opportunities and challenges of economic integration<\/strong>“.<\/p>\n

The morning sessions will be open to the public that takes part in the Forum, while the Ministerial works will start in the afternoon with a discussion chaired by the Danish Minister of Education Soren Pind<\/strong> about the role played by national policies in fostering a more equitable distribution of the benefits of globalization and technological progress, namely digitalization<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In the afternoon, the Italian Minister of Economy Pier Carlo Padoan<\/strong> will assist to the signing ceremony of the \u201cMultilateral Convention to Implement Tax Treaty Related Measures to prevent Base Erosion and Profit Shifting<\/strong>“, as well as to the session on competition, capital and wealth distribution dynamics<\/strong> (Item 6).<\/p>\n
