﻿{"id":1058,"date":"2020-02-20T12:12:08","date_gmt":"2020-02-20T11:12:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/italiarapparigi.esteri.it\/news\/dalla_rappresentanza\/2020\/02\/l-ambasciatore-antonio-bernardini-2\/"},"modified":"2020-02-20T12:12:08","modified_gmt":"2020-02-20T11:12:08","slug":"l-ambasciatore-antonio-bernardini-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/italiarapparigi.esteri.it\/en\/news\/dalla_rappresentanza\/2020\/02\/l-ambasciatore-antonio-bernardini-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Italy co-chairs Governance pillar of MENA-OECD programme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Permanent Representative to the International Organisations in Paris, Ambassador Antonio Bernardini assumes the co-presidency of the OECD Regional Programme for Middle East and North Africa (MENA) for the Governance Pillar.<\/p>\n<p>Taking over his duties in a priority geographical area for the Italian foreign policy, Ambassador Bernardini will work together with his Tunisian colleague covering the regional country aspects.<\/p>\n<p>The Governance programme is a strategic partnership between MENA countries and the OECD to share knowledge and expertise, with a view to disseminating standards and principles of good governance that support ongoing reforms in the MENA region.<\/p>\n<p>Algeria, Bahrain, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestinian Authority, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates and Yemen are among the countries involved in the programme.<\/p>\n<p>The Governance programme is one of the two pillars, the other being the competitiveness programme, of the MENA-OECD regional programme.<\/p>\n<p>The programme avails itself of the OECD Centre of Caserta, established in 2012 by the Italian National School of Administration and the OECD, directed by Professor Mensi.<\/p>\n<p>The centre promotes initiatives for capacity building to foster public sector reforms in the region.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Permanent Representative to the International Organisations in Paris, Ambassador Antonio Bernardini assumes the co-presidency of the OECD Regional Programme for Middle East and North Africa (MENA) for the Governance Pillar.
