(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.iamb.ciheam.org\/\"><strong>CIHEAM-Bari<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iamc.ciheam.org\/\"><strong>CIHEAM-Chania<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iamm.ciheam.org\/\"><strong>CIHEAM-Montpellier<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0e\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iamz.ciheam.org\/\"><strong>CIHEAM-Saragozza<\/strong><\/a>).\u200b<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Active in multilateral cooperation in the fields of sustainable agriculture and fisheries, food systems and coastal and rural development, CIHEAM carries out initiatives in the fields of education and training, research and the creation of open platforms for learning and dissemination of knowledge, technical assistance and political dialogue and partnership.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">These activities are carried out taking into account the four main pillars established in PACMED 2025, the strategic agenda adopted during the 2016 ministerial Council meeting: <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Protection of the planet, by combating waste of food, natural resources, knowledge and know-how;<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Food and nutritional security, by promoting sustainable agriculture and food systems;<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Inclusive development by investing in new generations and fragile territories;<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Prevention of crises by contributing to the management of tensions and working for the resilience of communities.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The CIHEAM organizational chart is as follows: <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">President of the Board of Directors: Frida Krifca Secretary General: <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Teodoro Miano Board of Directors: composed of a representative from each of the Member States, it is the management body of the Organization.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Representatives of the OECD and the Council of Europe are ex officio members and sit on it in an advisory capacity.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Consultative Committee: expresses opinions at the request of the Board of Directors.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Italy has a representative on the Board of Directors and on the Consultative Committee and participates in the work of the Organization also through the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Bari, whose Director General is Maurizio Raeli.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\"> The competent national authority is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation \u2013 Directorate General for Development Cooperation<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Official site: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ciheam.org\/\"><strong>Centre international de hautes \u00e9tudes agronomiques m\u00e9diterran\u00e9ennes<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies &nbsp; Founded in 1962, the International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies is a Mediterranean intergovernmental organization composed of 13 member states (Albania, Algeria, Egypt, Spain, France, Greece, Italy, Lebanon, Malta, Morocco, Portugal, Tunisia and Turkey).
