The President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella awarded Ms. Silvia Da Rin Pagnetto and Mr. Marco Ferrazzani the honour of Cavaliere dell’Ordine della Stella d’Italia.
Dr. Silvia da Rin Pagnetto is currently Director of the Secretariat of the Council and of the Executive Committee of the OECD, a service that provides strategic advice to the Organization and contributes to its daily management and operation. Silvia Da Rin Pagnetto is the first Italian to assume this responsibility. In the past, Dr. da Rin Pagnetto has held various positions in public service and international development, specializing in the implementation of strategies for political innovation in various international organizations, such as the United Nations.
Marco Ferrazzani since 2010 is the Legal Adviser and Head of the Legal Department of the European Space Agency, working from its headquarters in Paris. On behalf of the European Space Agency, he carries out managerial responsibilities for the legal and regulatory structuring of space at the international level, legal and institutional analysis on the functioning of the intergovernmental system, with the drafting of acts and decisions adopted by the Member States for the creation of space programs. Europeans, such as Galileo, Copernicus and space exploration and related agreements with NASA. He represents the European Space Agency in international negotiations, with national and international administrations and jurisdictions. He regularly participates in the UN Committee on UNCOPUOS space in the annual sessions in Vienna, and to this end coordinates the legal positions of the European Member States within the UN.
