On 21 September 2021, Ambassador Antonio Bernardini met the 49th Higher Course of Guardia di Finanza ECONOMIC AND FINANCE POLICE SCHOOL. The delegation accompanied by Gen.C.A. Carlo Ricozzi, Inspector for the Education Departments of the Guardia di Finanza and by Gen.D. Vito Augelli, Commander of the PEF School, visited the Permanent Representation as part of a study mission that brought those students to some international organizations based in Europe.
The course is reserved to a restricted numbers of Officers chosen after a selective competition based on qualifications and tests. It can be defined as the training cycle for excellence within the Corps, by virtue of the objectives pursued, the disciplines covered, the educational structure, the prestige of the teaching staff.
During the course of study, the attendees are committed to broadening their knowledge of various legal, economic, financial, fiscal and business disciplines that characterize the sectors of the institutional mission of the Corps. They take part in numerous seminars, conferences and lectures and go on study mission in and outside Europe.
In this context, on 20 September they went to the OECD headquarters where they were welcomed by the Deputy Secretary General Jeff Schlagenhauf and participated in two professional meetings.
The first one with the Deputy Director of the Center for Tax Policy and Administration, Grace Perez-Navarro, where they discussed the main initiatives in international taxation.
The second one with the Executive Secretary of the FATF, Devid Lewis, in which they talked over the updated initiatives to prevent and to fight new criminal trends related with money laundering and terrorism financing.
