Italy and Honk Kong (China) signed the Competent Authority Agreement for the automatic exchange of financial account information

Italy and Honk Kong (China) signed today, 16th march 2017, the Competent Authority Agreement for the automatic exchange of financial account information. The Agreement (under the OCSE Common Reporting Standard) will enable bilateral exchange of information for tax matters starting from September 2018 and identifies what information need to be collected and which FIs are interested in. Such Agreement is an efficient mechanism to obtain financial information about funds held off shore by Italian taxpayers.
