RENEWAL OF THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING FOR THE OECD INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY FOR TAX CRIME INVESTIGATION

Rome, Lido di Ostia – Giorgio Toschi, General Commander of the Italian Guardia di Finanza, and Pascal Saint-Amans Director of the Centre for Tax Policy and Administration on behalf of the OECD, signed the renewal of the Memorandum of understanding that provides the legal framework for co-operation between the Parties, concerning the Academy’s programme at the Scuola di Polizia Tributaria of the Guardia di Finanza. After three years, since 2014, the Memorandum has been now renewed for a period of five years. To date, more than 260 criminal tax investigators from 60 countries have received training at the International Academy in Ostia, including participants from 43 developing countries. The medium-term objective for the Academy is to expand the number of programmes offered, increase geographical coverage of participation and develop online trainings module. The signing of the Memorandum took place at the presence of Minister of Economic and Finance Pier Carlo Padoan, on the occasion of the closing ceremony for the year of study at the Scuola pt.
